Rescue Training Associates


Course Description:

This course is designed for task force members who serve in the position of Planning Officer or Technical Information Specialist. This 40 hour program will train personnel in planning cycles, required forms, responsibilities, maps, GPS use, and other functions of the Planning Officer and Technical Information Specialist. This class meets or exceeds the Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) requirements set forth by the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA).

  • Task Force Positions
  • Planning Team Position Descriptions
  • Local/State/Federal Response
  • Team Integration
  • Federal Forms
  • Pre-Incident Planning
  • Alert, Activation, Deployment Processes
  • Engineering & Structural Marking
  • Creating the IAP
  • Maps (for squads, medical, logistics, etc.)
  • Global Positioning Satellite - GPS
